Bio – Tamiesha Frempong, MD MPH

Tamiesha Frempong, MD MPH is a member of the Ophthalmology faculty at New York Eye & Ear Infirmary Mount Sinai.  She is one of the principal surgical instructors of resident physicians at Mount Sinai and also serves as the Director of the Pediatric Ophthalmology Service at Elmhurst Hospital and is an Associate Program Director.  She is the Vice Chair for Diversity and Inclusion for Ophthalmology for the New York Eye and Ear Infirmary Mount Sinai Health System.

Dr. Frempong is committed to fostering an open and inclusive environment in which every member of the patient care team can learn and grow and patients are treated with consideration and compassion.  Dr. Frempong is also committed to service of the underserved and volunteers for several international organizations as well as at a Mount Sinai based free clinic for the indigent, East Harlem Health Outreach Program (EHHOP).

Dr. Frempong graduated from Yale University.  She earned her medical degree from Yale School of Medicine and her MPH from Yale School of Epidemiology and Public Health.
