Bio – Shana Dacon-Pereira

 

Shana Dacon-Pereira is a detail-oriented professional with 10 years of progressive experience in the healthcare industry. She currently serves as Senior Director, Administration, Corporate Health System Affairs in the Mount Sinai Health System’s Office for Diversity and Inclusion where she provides administrative guidance to system leadership to establish diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) strategic priorities. She also oversees the system’s Administrative Fellowship Program, among other talent pipeline initiatives for individuals of underrepresented groups; develops and facilitates DEI educational content for clinical and administrative staff; drives staff engagement and participation in system-wide diversity councils and employee resource groups; and consults and advises on organizational interventions aimed at establishing an anti-racist culture.

Ms. Dacon-Pereira currently represents the Mount Sinai Health System on the National Center for Healthcare Leadership’s administrative fellowship and diversity and inclusion councils and the New York City Department of Education’s Career and Technical Education Healthcare Commission and is also a member of the New York Regional Chapter of the National Association of Health Services Executives. She has been a featured speaker, panelist, and moderator at local and national conferences and forums, including for the Institute for Diversity and Health Equity and the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Ms. Dacon-Pereira received a Bachelor of Science the State University of New York at Binghamton. She subsequently received a Master of Public Health in from Columbia University and a Master of Business Administration from New York University.
